If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you wish to print to the Apeos Port 450i printers (ni, san, shi and go), you will need to follow the instructions below:
Firstly, you should authenticate against our samba server to get the permission to print.
Click the Start button and choose Run....
Then enter \\samba.cse.unsw.edu.au\username where username is your CSE username.
Then at the login window enter your user CSE username and password.
You need the right driver. Visit the Xerox Global Printer Driver page. Click "get driver" under the "Free Download" section near the top of the page. Select your operating system (Windows 7 or Vista or Vista x64 if you're reading this page) and language. Click the "PostScript" driver link. Read the agreement and click "Accept" to initiate the download. Take a note of where the file is saved (in Vista this is usually the "Downloads" folder).
Go to the folder where you saved the file and double-click the file. This executable extracts the driver to a specified directory. Once this is done, it opens up an "Add Printer" dialog. For future installations, you can get to this dialog through Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and select Add Printer
Choose Add a local printer
Choose Create a new port with type Local Port
Type \\samba.cse.unsw.edu.au\printername like the following for printer ni
Next step is to install the driver. Click on "Have Disk ..." and choose the location where you extracted the driver on step 3. Choose "Xerox Global Printer Driver PS".
