Teacher and Tutor Allocations

Lecturer, Supervisor, Demonstrator and Tutors are all managed within the CSE account:teachadmin. CSG runs nightly scripts that analyse this data and adds and/or removes people from UDB classes, as appropriate.

For most issues, staff should contact teachadmin@cse.unsw.edu.au (currently Andrew Taylor and Jingling Xue).

Suitable advice for lecturers about this exists within a section of the Account Classes and Groups page.

Academic staff allocations live in: /home/teachadmin/public\_html/alloc/${YEARSESSION}.db

Casual student allocations (usually of tutors) for $COURSE are in: /home/teachadmin/public\_html/casual\_academics/$YEARSESSION/selections/$COURSE

Both staff and tutor allocations are processed by /home/ss/accounts/bin/updatestaff.

This script has a bunch of documentation in it. It calls many other scripts, including some in /home/ss/bin/. The script within which you can find the format and mappings of the staff alloc file is /home/ss/accounts/bin/staffalloc.pl
