GitLab — Platform for R&D and General Course Administration
CSE GitLab — Git source control, issue tracking, wikis, LFS and CI/CD for research projects and course administration.
Unreviewed migration
gitlab.cse.unsw.edu.au may host course resources such as source code, teaching materials, and wiki pages, but it is not the designated instance for teaching. To use GitLab for teaching purposes, please contact ss@cse.unsw.edu.au.
Overview
CSE GitLab is available at https://gitlab.cse.unsw.edu.au.
It provides the following standard features which can be used for research projects and general course administration if desired and suitable:
- conventional source control based on Git
- issue tracking
- wiki for documentation
- Git Large File Storage (LFS) for data such as video, VM image, ISO etc
- CI/CD backed by multi-tier runners hosted on both K17 and AWS
UNSW SSO and authorisation
CSE GitLab is configured to authenticate with UNSW SSO (Single Sign-On). Staff and students of UNSW can log in as long as their UNSW SSO is valid. CSE GitLab supports collaboration not only within the School of CSE but also between CSE and other schools and UNSW-affiliated institutes.
By default, users have very limited access to GitLab resources until the appropriate group and permission setups are made. If your research team or course is new to CSE GitLab, please contact ss@cse.unsw.edu.au.
External collaborators
For external collaborators who do not have UNSW SSO, we suggest applying for a UNSW contractor account if eligible. For short-term collaborations, we can create local accounts.
