CSE Standard Equipment

Overview

This list is designed to be used in conjunction with the school's Policy for provision of Standard Computer Equipment.

The list represents a range of well specified computers that the School will provide to its academics and researchers.

In compiling this list, the School has leveraged savings made by the University in negotiating preferred pricing on specific configurations with its suppliers.

Standard Systems

The School provides funding for a standard desktop for PhD students.

Under certain circumstances, with Supervisor and IT Manager approval, a standard HP laptop may be approved.
A request for any other system will require Supervisor approval and an additional funding source.

All CSE Standard Equipment remains the property of CSE and supported for the life of the warranty.
Upon completion of a student research program, hardware will be reviewed in line with the school's end-of-life policy.
In the event of termination or withdrawal from a research program, hardware is recovered for re-allocation by the school.
