How to stop xfig crashing under KDE
There is a bug in the version of xfig at CSE, causing it to freeze under certain circumstances when users are using the KDE desktop environment.SS has investigated this bug, and have found a workaround in the Debian bug reports for xfig. To make xfig work:
- Launch "KDE Control Center" (in the Settings menu)
- Choose Appearance & Themes --> Colors
- at the bottom of the panel uncheck the button labelled: " Apply colors to non-KDE applications "

At the time of investigation, a fixed version of xfig is not available.
