How do I check my current Print Quota?
The most reliable command is priv pquota.Your print quota is also visible in your account info, displayed using the acc command (Acc). This is updated when you print something, or run priv pquota.
You can also visit the Control_Panel website for a web interface.
See the Resource Quotas Policy for information on where the print quota limit number comes from.
How do I get more Print Quota?
You have two options if you require more print quota:- You can purchase more quota through the helpdesk
- You are staff of a postgraduate student, whose work/research requires more print quota than your default allocation. You should ask your supervisor to contact SystemSupport detailing the reason for extra usage, plus the additional amount required.
What about Colour Printing?
Undergraduates do not have access to colour printing facilities.Staff and postgraduates should refer to the Colour Printing FAQ item.
To check your colour printing quota, you can run: priv pquota colour.

You can view detailed usage logs using the priv pquota -v command. We recommend viewing it through a pager, like this: priv pquota -v | less.
When does my Print Quota reset to zero?
Print Quota (along with IP Quota) is reset ONLY on Monday of week 1 of session 1 and again in session 2 each year. It is not reset for summer session. How often do quotas get updated?
Quotas are not updated as soon as your print job is finished. Print logs are collected and processed every hour. Please be aware of this when printing so that you don't go over quota. If you do go over quota, that amount will be subtracted from your next allocation or purchase, providing less next time.
Can I transfer unused print quota to my friend?
Only purchased quota can be transferred, and only when you are leaving CSE, and it must all be to one account. To request a transfer, contact SystemSupport. Be sure to include user account details of the intended beneficiary.Allocated "free" quota will not be transferred.
